March 6th Artwalk

Cathedral Pines Snow by John Orcutt

Cathedral Pines Snow by John Orcutt

Join us on March 6th from 5-8 p.m. for the Kingfield Artwalk.  Our new exhibit, “Fresh Snow and River Smoke”, features the most recent nature photography of John Orcutt and Cam Held. These images showcase the subtle color and ethereal beauty that only this winter season can offer; from early morning steam rising off the Carrabassett River on a -20 degree day to a fresh dusting of snow blanketing evergreen boughs deep in a Maine forest.

Valerie Aponik’s plein air paintings will continue to be exhibited. She lives and works from her studio/home on Great Wass Island Maine much of the year, and during the winter months she lives and works in Phillips. Aponik has been painting en plein air for over twenty years. Also view a series of trays and plates, each crafted from a single piece of wood, produced by artist David Rasmussen. These functional art pieces reference modern Danish design, but are handcrafted here in the United States.

Free refreshments will be served from Catering by Theresa, and Kendrick Charles will be driving his horse and sleigh throughout the village, stopping at each of Kingfield’s 12 participating businesses.
