KittyWalk (September 4th)

KittyWalk Calendar

Join us on September 4th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. as the area celebrates the artistry and life of Kitty Cole Jones, who passed away last May after battling pancreatic cancer. Kitty was a resident of Carrabassett Valley; and though she worked many varied jobs throughout the western Maine region, her art was her life’s work. Her paintings, which most often featured the western mountains of Maine, have exhibited across the state. She was a member of Upcountry Artists and High Peaks Artisans and was an active promoter of Kingfield Friday Artwalk. The Farm Cottage Gallery, Grand Central Station, Stanley Museum, Kingfield Public Library, Schoolhouse Gallery and High Peaks Artisan Guild will all display the bold and courageous work of Kitty Cole Jones.

Along with a new exhibit featuring recent works of John Orcutt and Cam Held, the Schoolhouse Gallery, we will feature, “Sam’s Boots”, one of the Kitty Cole Jones’ paintings from the new 2016 Kitty Cole Jones calendar. Visit our gallery to purchase one of the calendars, which features 12 seasonal paintings by Kitty from her beloved Carrabassett Valley and beyond. Designed by John and Cynthia Orcutt and Cam Held, the calendar will be hot off the press and on sale for this artwalk. Calendar sales will be used to offset the end-of-life care costs incurred by the family.
