KINGFIELD – For the February 6, 2015 Kingfield Artwalk, held from 5-8 PM, the Schoolhouse Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of an exhibit featuring winter landscape paintings of Valerie Aponik.  Valerie Aponik lives and works during the winter months in Phillips, Maine and from her studio/home on Great Wass Island, Maine during the warmer weather.  Aponik has been painting en plein air, or in the “open air”, outdoors, for over twenty years, using oil paints on masonite.  Says Aponik, “Painting on location, gives me the most alive feeling of the now.  I seek to translate that moment, through paint, color, form, and the play of light and dark.  I want the viewer to appreciate the pleasure I find conveying my hand and heart response to my environment.”

Join us on February 6th for the opening, where complimentary light refreshments and drinks will be served.  Can’t make it?  Not a problem, Valerie’s work will be in the Schoolhouse Gallery, located at 266 Main Street in Kingfield Village through March, 2015.  Also on display are the photographs of nature photographers John Orcutt and Cam Held, as well as other art and crafts from the High Peaks region of Maine.  We look forward to seeing you!  For more information, please call Cynthia Orcutt at 207 939 6518, email corcutt86@gmail.com or visit www.schoolhouseartgallery.com.
