Join us this Friday, December 12 at 7:00 PM, for a FREE event with light appetizers and refreshments. Ben Pearson and Cameron Held will discuss photographic techniques for capturing images of birds and other wildlife.

Ben Pearson is a registered Maine Guide, former US National Whitewater Canoe Champion and has completed the 100-mile Canadian Ski Marathon.  For 25 years he worked in product management and development at L.L. Bean, where he was Director of Sporting goods and Product manager for Outdoor Gear. In recent years, using his in-depth knowledge of the natural world, Ben has turned his attention to the discovery of dramatic and inspiring nature photography images. From his 110 year-old camp at the Narrows on Richardson Lake in Maine’s Rangeley Region, he is exploring the photographic possibilities of scenic landscape, wildlife and plant subjects.

A 2014 Bates College graduate, Cam Held majored in Geology while also getting concentrations in Wildlife Biology and Photography and Filmmaking. Originally from Rochester, New York, Cam’s photography has led him across four continents and his work has been shown in several galleries in the Northeast. His filmmaker projects have amassed over a million views online. To view more of his work, visit his website.

Photo Fridays is a series of presentations, covering various photographic topics, aimed at discussing our work with others.  Through these discussions, we intend to provide information about techniques, equipment and possibilities employed to create well-executed, meaningful photographs.
