June Garden - Patty Ritzo

KINGFIELD – New paintings of gardens, shorelines, rivers and fields fill the Schoolhouse Gallery this summer.  Nineteen acrylic paintings by Kingfield painter Patty Ritzo depict warm summer days, flowers in full bloom and ripples glistening in the sun.  Says Patty “Living in Kingfield, Maine year round, especially through the long winter, I have developed a need for color in my life.  Painting with the bright color palette that I use, feeds the need.  Color affects people.  I experience joy, lightness, intensity, and freedom when I paint and I feel it is conveyed through my artwork.”  A combination of large canvases, several triptychs and small vignette paintings, the show displays the range, vibrancy and lyrical style of Patty’s work, seen for the first time in a large gallery setting in Kingfield. The show will be open until August 14.
